So garbage that international demand makes us the 4th biggest exporter of beef. Get over yourself.

Second biggest beef producer (just a hair behind Brazil), but only fourth biggest exporter. Both of which are natural consequences of just being a large landmass.

Most US produced beef is banned in countries with actual food standards due to the use of artificial growth hormones.

If you cared to investigate the details of those growth hormones instead of parroting EU-centric fear campaigns you would see that there’s no actual evidence that the minuscule remnants of hormones, nanograms per portion, are harmful. There were some unfounded claims in the 70s and 80s that made headlines and whipped the public into a panic which gave European governments a decent foundation to enact win-win protectionist trade policies. (The EU tends toward “prove it’s safe” rather than “prove it’s not”, which is fine but becomes annoying when people then talk shit about stuff like the US banning the import of unpasteurized young cheese for legitimate health reasons.)

Until very recently the US had some of the best food safety records in the world, though admittedly a less impressive history of animal wellness and humane treatment.
