Spring is my favourite season. When you get the first warm day after a depressing winter and the new leaves are growing and the cherry blossoms are in bloom.

We got summer in spring this year. In fact I think we got summer in winter (February) this year too.

Almost no bugs now, until we get a good bit of rain. No bugs to speak of for a month here. Or longer. I am leaving my door open with no insect intrusions.

Also, where I am, early spring might not have many parasitic insects, but there are explosions of ticks, wood tick types, they don’t generally carry disease but still. After it dries out in the summer there are like none now.

Plus spring has tons of cold snaps here. We get leaves later than moscow even though they are way north.

That sounds nice. Where I am there are lots of mosquitos, flies, bees and wasps from late spring until we get a good cold snap. So there’s usually a couple weeks where it’s warm enough to have the door and windows open with no worries for those pests.

      Right there with you.

Summer has been pretty brutal this year, just so ungodly humid. Fortunately a dehumidifier costs a lot less to run than air conditioning.

And fall is ok temp wise, and the smells and colors are nice, but all the work of raking leaves and shit sucks big time. Especially when you have trees that don’t drop until the very tail of fall, after the brutal cold has started.

The good thing about my part of London is all the trees have been cut down. So we don’t have wildlife anymore, but at least we don’t have to rake leaves /s
