Spring is my favourite season. When you get the first warm day after a depressing winter and the new leaves are growing and the cherry blossoms are in bloom.

We got summer in spring this year. In fact I think we got summer in winter (February) this year too.

That’s why I never use the easybake type of yeast. You’d never know if it was dead until you actually set the dough to rise and nothing happens.

The regular dried yeast is so much better, because you activate it first, so you don’t waste time with the rest of it if it doesn’t activate.

If it was just dead yeast making it that stodgy, they should have noticed it wasn’t rising 😅😅

My niece’s reception teacher funded her class’s Dolly book programme. Coat of Many Colours was the first one she got, and I showed her the song on YouTube and she became a fan for a while, singing it with the southern twang. We watched the ones of Dolly narrating the books too. She’s probably forgotten about it now though.

We used to have a Windows NT pc. It had 64MB of RAM iirc. I think we had it in a dual boot with windows 98 at one point? It was always crashing. There was a weird issue where if the pc crashed when it was shutting down, your profile got wiped. So every time we shut the pc down, we’d be like, “Please don’t crash, please don’t crash.”

At first they all blamed me for the wiped profiles, because I was the only one it didn’t happen to. Then they realised it was the shut down crash.

Not sure why you got downvoted for that. All it takes is downlading almost any other browser besides chrome. When my aunt shows me something on her phone and the page is full of ads, and I’m just like, why are you putting up with this? I installed a different browser for her that blocks both webpage ads and YouTube ads, but I strongly suspect she’s still using the same old browser.

Sounds good. What I need is a bunch of local nerds starting a computer club with some old PCs we can practice installing Linux on. I would actually be willing to talk to people for that. And then once I knew what I was doing, I’d have so much fun making other people learn it too.

Psp7 is my staple, been using it since around 2001 ish, still does most things better than XI. Although I can’t save presets on Win10.

I can still navigate using the sun or stars. Only, until climate change did a number on us this year, you could rarely even see the sky here in London.

I just realised map apps actually make it harder to navigate for me. I swear the arrow always points in the wrong direction. It’s actually easier to look at a map with north marked and use the sun to navigate.

Oh no, you’ve triggered my occasional whine about Linux Mint. I was so happy to finally have a Linux distro to play with, twenty years after first wanting to try it after my dad brought home a copy of Linux Format someone left on the bus.

Linux just doesn’t like me. It was okay at first, though I couldn’t get my art programs to work (sorry, I love my SAI and psp 7, I don’t like krita and always hated gimp). But I could use it for intrewebz and storing my mp3s. I was so proud of my first sudo apt update. But after a while it wouldn’t connect to the internet so I can’t update it and now it’s just gathering dust taking up an entire SSD. I wish I was brave enough to reinstall it or replace it with a different distro, but I’m too scared I’ll brick my entire PC.

That is the end of my occasional whine about Linux.

I have a cousin called Usama and after 9/11, the kids in his class started calling him Usama bin London, which sucked for him, but it still makes me chuckle.

Part one of chapter 2 was done and then it kinda fizzled out so we never finished it.

I honestly can’t remember. I was thinking wheels as well maybe, but then I thought doors, but I don’t care enough to look it up.

But do we include all doors? Like wardrobe doors, etc? Or just doorways. I don’t actually care. I’m not thinking about this anymore.
