According to the text posted online Friday, the USPS is ready to implement the new restrictions on mail-in voting if the court injunctions are lifted.
“If the government obtains timely relief from the injunctions, implementation immediately thereafter will provide election officials as much time as possible before the next election to comply with the rule’s preparation standards for Federal Ballot Mail envelopes, and to prepare to submit data to the Federal Ballot Mail Portal (‘Portal’), before the mail-in and absentee ballots subject to this rule are mailed (which generally occurs in September or thereafter, as determined by state law),” the rule reads. “The Portal will become active (along with the verification process that relies on Portal data) at the time of the publication of the system of records (‘SOR’) governing the Portal.”
Nearly one in three Americans voted by mail in 2024, but Trump, who wants to restrict the number of voters by limiting ballots cast by mail, signed an executive order in March that prohibits the USPS from delivering ballots to any voters not on a federal list of citizens deemed eligible to vote in each state by the Department of Homeland Security.
I have no intention of trusting the mail, I’m going to deliver my ballot to the county clerk by hand. I recommend everyone else cut the mail out where they can.
Isn’t that the best? Choose vote by mail, get the ballot early. Do research and fill it out over weeks when you have time, and then just go to the polling place, skip the line, and hand it to them
Colorado has drop-off boxes, some of them are drive-through. Same as what you said, but you drop it off on a day that is convenient to you. You have a huge window of time to drop off your filled-out ballot.
It’s a beautiful thing.
A truly free country would do everything possible to make voting as easy as humanly possible. People going the other direction are not interested in freedom. Even though they talk about “freedom” all the time it’s the Southern version of “freedom”.

Ya I guess I understand part of your point, but I think medicine/life saving equipment/ emergency supplies are something id expect any country to send, but with civil responsibilities like collecting one vote I wouldn’t be surprised if any country in the subcontinent just says “too inconvenient/not worth the resources” that’s all

I love it because I have anxiety and having the time to myself to do it is essential because my mind blanks if I’m anxious, which I usually am around other people.
Our county has drop boxes to skip the mail. Now that I think about it, the previous county I lived in had them too. Both are in California.
My county has the drop boxes as well, but my daughter is going to school out of state. It is a 6 hour drive one way for her to come home to vote. If it were not for mail in ballots she would not have been able to vote for the last 4 years.
LOL. My father signed me up or mail-in ballots when I was going to college. I was two hours away.

I just do an absentee ballot a week or two early. I don’t have to wait in a dumb line and it’s really easy to do at the courthouse.
