I’m not that big against systemd, but Wayland (relevant to Hyprland here) makes me cry.
I’m still using X11 sessions quite often because Wayland gets confused when there are 2 GPUs in the system. And there are many more issues I’ve encountered that I won’t be able to remember right off the bat, but that all results in overall frustrating experience.
I’ve been using Wayland with iGPU+dGPU on many distros for years. The only problem is that it sometimes takes a bit of effort to let applications know which GPU you want them to use, and this problem has nothing to do with Wayland and would be the same with X11 or even Windows.
Works fine with two laptop gpus, don’t have a desktop with two gpus on hand to check, but it probably would work fine as well? Are you sure that your problems aren’t desktop environment related and are wayland specific?
