it will never not irk me the way that neurotypicals will ask a question about something when they literally do not WANT an answer–because if you try to answer their question they accuse you of ‘making excuses’.

what they REALLY mean is “I hate that, I don’t want it to be that way. I don’t want you to tell me why it is, I want to lead you to changing your mind by making you rethink it so you might understand why I think it shouldn’t be like that”

      they’re so gods damned self-entitled.

The best comment my Mom ever made when I watched Star Wars The Phantom Menace:

“What the fuck is Oscar Schindler doing in that movie?”

We all turn into our parents. I’ve tactfully taken to asking, “Do we know who that is?” if I think I’ve missed some plot detail. Then I still look out of touch and pre-demetia but I do it in a collaborative way.

This drives me nuts if I am also watching the movie for the first time.

But I love rewatching movies and happy to pause and talk about the plot on the 2nd+ watch.

However I do make a rule that under no circumstances will the conversation be “Who is that actor? What else are they in?” Plot discussions only!
