Someone is going to have to define “maga” as anything other than a nonsense baby-word that sounds like goo-goo and gaa-gaa.

For the most part, it has only meant people stupid and terrible enough to buy into a washed-up never-was like donnie and to put on that stupid hat [1]. So when people talk about who or what is “true” maga, it just makes me laugh because it just looks like The Tribe That Rubs Shit In Their Hair finally found someone awful enough for them to worship.

[1] By the way, anyone ever see any of them wearing that hat when they aren’t in a big group of them? I never see any of these pussies wearing that hat by themselves.

MAGA is the name of the US neo-fascist movement. It will be viewed in textbooks the same way we view Nazis, the PNF, the Argentine Dirty War, Operation Condor, and other fascist movements. ICE will go down as the secret police/death squads.

I mean, it makes a certain kind of sense that both fascism and “maga” don’t really have an ethos and no real literature about defining their supposed moral imperatives and philosophy and so on. All “maga” seems to have been, so far, is a bunch of the worst types of people fawning over one orange man. But fascism was not really all that different.

When I hear the likes of Ben Shapiro or MGT going on about who is the “real” “maga”, it makes so much more sense to remember that fascism had no real tradition of formulating anything in writing (probably because that’s for wussy intellectuals) and that’s why it just sounds like that Marklar episode in South Park -

“These so-called Marklars are not the real Marklar, the Marklar base don’t back that Marklar and don’t think they are Marklar, this other set of people are the true Marklar…”

My dad did. He’s dead now and my mom opted not to put the hat on him in the casket, so not anymore.

She also decided to throw out his “Nazi shirts” (her term) rather than donate then with the rest of his clothes.

She’s also MAGA, but not quite as rabid sr he was.

Sorry to hear about your dad. She’s maga, but she called his shirts “Nazi shirts”?

Also, I guess I did see one person wearing one of those in public, but I think it might have been some School of Mines student in Golden. The other college-aged people sitting with him were not wearing anything politically affiliated, so I’m not even sure it was the actual hat.

I’d love to hear the thought process on that one, as well.

There’s MAGA that think they aren’t fascist, and there’s MAGA that embrace the fascism. That might be the political difference between my parents.

My mom didn’t want any of his DVDs, but I’m always down to add more movies to my media server, so I took them. Among the westerns and the war movies were some documentaries about WW2 German military leaders which I didn’t find particularly surprising or disturbing. However, there was also a copy of Triumph of the Will.

It’s very strange for me. I loved my father, and I know he loved me. I’m pretty sure I was his favorite. I’m also the most farthest left of his children, and two of my three kids are trans.

Complicated doesn’t even approach the same universe as my relationship with my father.

Speaking of the hat. I know someone who is retired military and one day the hat that they always wear (that said navy, the group and other things) suddenly changed to the same bright red color that MAGA hats are. He’s trying to be subtle if called out on it “it’s just my navy hat!” But the color is a hell of a dog whistle.

Yup. These jackoffs ruined probably a few team hats, too. I know I sometimes see a red hat for something else and look again to be sure I’m not in the presence of a Nazi.

Well, many of them proudly call themselves Christian Nationalists and so we should just call them Nat-C’s for short, and they should not really object.

I wonder if the MAGA faithful are smart enough to ask, “How does renaming Lake Ontario help us?”
