I got an una watch I had mentioned in another thread. They’re from Scotland and made there.
It’s still early phases but it’s a module end user repairable watch with a developer environment so anyone smart enough can create apps for it.
So far I’ve given up things from my Apple Watch but haven’t really missed them and I’m a big exercise nut.
It’s more than that for me. Many products I bring into Canada from Europe come into the country via a warehouse or subsidiary in the US before landing in Canada.
I’ve stopped importing their products even though they’re not American.
I want to source their products direct or work with them to build out distribution here in Canada.
We need to change the worldview that America is the centre piece. Their fascists and what we’re seeing is a symptom of what America really is. Boycott them.
This is why people in the province and on social media need to make aware what’s happening in hopes of waking them up to the reality that is headed their way should the vote to separate.

As much as I hate to admit it, Canada really need to be able to refine our own resources. We have all this energy, but in order for us to use it, we need to shunt it down to those gross ass yanks and then re-import it.
We need capacity to do this ourselves to supply our own people with our own power. Same with mills and other needs that we as a nation require.
We can’t even have nuclear plants without those fucking shit stains that enrich it as we don’t have capacity to do that.

You’re right, but most of us mortals are outside of the web services / virtualization world to even be able to tell what small mom and pop company is using an AWS service for their site.
This is more about stopping them with the end consumer products and services. If we stop buying from them, they’ll hopefully pack up and leave the country.
