I teach at such a campus.
That was… not a fun week to be a professor.
Shitposter while I tend to two babies. Maybe when I have my life back, I’ll help us get a few more niche communities back?

Kudos to you for posting for the sake of denying them. I won’t watch because I’d rather keep blind; I actually really enjoyed GTAV (once it was on PC and sold for next to nothing lol) and I’ll probably get this several years after release the same way. I’m remarkably good at avoiding spoilers for unreasonable amounts of time (e.g. I found out the cake was a lie a decade after Portal released, lol).
Also fyi, GTA games are generally good and you can tell the writers and world builders had fun with it despite their shit management. It’s not a bad idea to pirate or buy at a strict discount to at least see the story they created. Plus, I’m an LA native and GTAV is practically a documentary!
Your sign is the wrong way, you’re asking for a price tag greater than $50, hehe.
But I agree!
Yeah, I figured Chromebook is just the next generation of this stuff and the mac gifting is probably on decline now that they’ve got their market share. It’s good to hear an edtech perspective though. It’s all about cost at this point, I imagine…
Ironically, the US is practically already off MS in schools and has been for a while but it’s Mac and Google Suite that took over. I literally had a college student in my class ask “What is Excel?” as it was listed as an option to conduct calculations.
It’s not better, but I thought that was funny. Big reason that happened, btw, Apple gifted whole computer labs to schools back when it was trying to get market share in the 90s, and now Google does likewise with Chromebook. Too bad there isn’t a Linux organization with enough money to do something like that, as it’s much more effective than banning something.
Wow, that’s wild. I guess there’s still a market for dialup, even in the age of mobile and satellite.
Or you’re a teenager making fat stacks with multiple ad bars. And by fat stacks, I mean fractions of a cent.
There was an ISP that also gave a discount (or was it free?) if you had the ad bar running. NetZero was it?

I’ll play devil’s advocate and say there are non-AI render processes that can miss a horn (e.g. working from a clay model and scanned, for instance). Hell, even a lazy wand picker in Photoshop can lose a horn! I’ll even say that the very-AI looking 2D illustration can simply be a byproduct of a lack of creativity and the fact this is clearly shovelware. I lived through the Wii era, I can attest that shovelware can look this bad without AI, lol.
HOWEVER, it sure as hell looks like AI generated artwork and they could do a lot better defending their process. The irony is … I don’t really think the trailer is AI? It’s… honestly too unpolished and weird to be? Every effect used is something I’m certain I could do myself, lol.
The thing a ton of people are missing here is… who the hell are you even blocking by crossing? You’re going when the cars in your direction are going. Where I live, there’s always cars idling for other cars.
What about left turners? Dedicated lights. Right turners? C’mon man, you get to go on red in most places. Four way pedestrian crossing? Well at that point, your car is intruding on a place with high pedestrian traffic; you’re lucky your car is even allowed there at this point!
Side note, fuck that button not even having a crosswalk or a pedestrian light. Is this even real? How do you have a button without a crossing light? Smh my head.
It most certainly changes on some roads, usually to adjust timing for safe crossing. There’s a street here that’s notoriously wide for stupid reasons (parking in the median lol) and if pedestrians are around it gives them about 60 seconds. No button? Usually 15, but depends a little on time of day.
There’s an interesting other case I’ve heard about from my Mom. There was a light that, at 3am, generally never changed unless a button was pushed. My mom had to get out of her car to push it every night after her night shift. I’m not sure that is still the case, but I suppose if your car never activates a sensor (or you’re on a bike or motorcycle), it makes sense.

I mean, today I saw a chocolate company ad saying no AI was needed. For chocolate. Anti-AI in a chocolate ad.
If Sees Candy is getting in on AI hate to sell shit, obviously people are tired of this crap. The bubble will burst.

The funny thing is he even started himself a progressive black Democrat when first elected. He clearly isn’t.

Well, except most house races are too safe to care about Republican (or Democrat) challengers to even do that. Hakeem won with 75% of the vote in the general.
So they really don’t need to win any voters over, they win simply by virtue of belonging to the dominant party in their district. That said, they need to win their party leadership, and it’s financial owners, over… hence how the system is so insanely corrupt.

As much as I don’t like her… ACAB
Uncaged the Elephant
Red Hot Ghost Peppers

The fact that old school tactics still work makes me wonder why nobody tries false noses, fake contacts, and other stuff costume designers are good at. There’s an awful lot you can do to disguise yourself besides just the hat/mask/sunglasses.
Ah fuck, there goes my right to vote in Jim Crow South.

“Ceci n’est pas une pipe” turns out predicted the rise of AI image generation. Except I suppose that’s “Ceci n’est pas de l’art.”
Mostly damage control for very freaked out students. The due date for the final paper was right when they shut everything down. I still had a few days to grade after it came back up.
But yeah, I was getting emails all day and kept having to assure them I wasn’t going to penalize them.
