  • Maybe there are better things to waste resources on than pointless clunker that nobody wants or needs.

Do you not comprehend just how many inventions are made because of progress in other technology? These balancing mechanics and pistons to be locomotive in a bidpedal fashion has previously been impossible. Now who knows what the future holds.

But people with attitude like yours will prevent all progress because you just can’t see the need? This is how funding gets slashed and you get what’s happening in places like the US.

That computer chess bot lead to other technology, you’re incredibly ignorant, it was a massive achievement in the field, how can you not see that? Because you can’t think of how it will directly affect t your life? Why would that even matter? That selfish?

  • Sooooooo you’ve got a heart transplant to get into the middle of a dense forest during a war, there’s too much flak for air support, and a vehicle would go at a snails pace.

Would you rather die because technology didn’t advance to allow a robot to be able to run through the forest at breakneck speed because planes exist? Or should we be trying to advance technology at every barrier because there’s other situations where those just don’t make a lick of fucking sense.

There’s obviously contextual situations where a plane and vehicle don’t make sense, but sure let’s inhibit progress for… whatever reason you think you’re making here….?

  • Apparantly you can’t comprehend that a blockage that creates pressure would increase the volume of the reservoir in the sump since it’s not pumping as fast as it needs too. Or if it’s low, it could be pumping too fast because of a leak.

You’re almost there, you comprehend the basics, but fumble with the gauges being different information that a gauge. Your full sump can also overflow, but your pressure gauge can’t tell you that specifically either.

The gauge is only the sum total of all the parts, it tells you NOTHING other than to check the system, which you should already do regularly regardless anyways.

  • Oil level is not oil pressure, they are different issues.

Oil pressure is directly related to the amount of oil in the system, too much oil, high pressure, not enough oil, too low. It’s slightly more complicated. But the gauges are there to tell you to check your oil anyways? So why skip not that unnecessary step and just check it…?

Idiots only need those gauges since they don’t check their oil or give their vehicle a visual once over. It starts with a visual inspection, if you’re too much of an idiot to do that, you need to rely on the gauges.

And again, the gauges aren’t just gone, they’re just moved off to the side since they aren’t needed all the time.

Using your race car analogy, you’re not driving a race car, or something where that’s needed immediately. You can dream and wish your car was that fancy I guess.

That live data is all a still available, you don’t need it 24/7 like a race driver. You’re conflating issues and points now. There’s nothing stoping you from viewing the cluster and getting your trends, is there? And those trends can all be found by doing a visual inspection anyways.

  • All of that can told by looking at your oil, the gauges are just a lazy half measure lol.

The light is just so you know to check the gauges or your dipstick or whatever since they’re superfluous and always have been.

They put gauges in as the first idiot defence for people who can’t even check their vehicle before starting it. Since if you checked you oil, you would have noticed something was wrong before even starting it or needing the gauge.

And nothing is stopping you from checking the cluster when it’s safe to do so, the information is still there, it’s never needed to be there 24/7.

You also need to ignore the first part of wiki and cherry pick your information to get that take…

From the exact same wiki page, but further up….

tell-tale, sometimes called an idiot light[1] or warning light, is an indicator of malfunction or operation of a system, indicated by a binary (on/off) illuminated light, symbol or text legend.

It’s telling you check your vehicle since you didn’t check the oil or something else before starting it, you know, like you should be.

People were ignoring the gauges until the light came on anyways, so why have it readily accessible when there other stuff?

  • How so? Are you one of those people who don’t check their dipstick before driving? And rely on a gauge that can fail? Do you not look under you vehicle for oil once in a while?

Because what does a gauge tell you that a once over doesn’t? How crappy is your car that you need to stare at an oil gauge instead of being able to tell something is up and pull over and find the information in your cluster? Maybe pay attention to the road instead of staring at superfluous gauges dude.

  • You’re the one saying pressed cds are digital, what makes a pressed cd digital? You’re just wrong dude.

An optical disc is a flat, usually[a] disc-shaped object that stores information in the form of physical variations on its surface that can be read with a beam of light. Optical discs can be reflective, where the light source and detector are on the same side of the disc, or transmissive, where light shines through the disc to be detected on the other side. They may contain analog or digital information, or a mixture of the two. Their main uses are the distribution of electronic media and data, and archival storage.

A cd is only one type of optical drive, and not all cds are digital, if they’re pressed, they’re analog. Like vinyl.

What are you even on about man I never said vinyl is digital,

Yes you did. A pressed cds and vinyl are the same thing, if one is analog, the other HAS to be too.

    obviously an analog format

Like a pressed CD should obviously be analog too…? That’s the point lmfao.

And before you asininely claim that a laser makes it digital. There is laser vinyl readers does that somehow make vinyl a digital media…? No, so why would CDs be different?

  • So you’re implying that vinyls also encode digital data? Because that clearly wrong, vinyl is analog. That’s the entire point. Did you miss that…?

If pressed vinyl is analog, than pressed cds have to be too, they’re the exact same process even. Why would you argue otherwise? Do you not understand how pressing is analog data…? You think that pressing vinyl, and pressing a cd somehow makes one digital and the other analog? That makes no fucking sense lol.

Wikipedia doesn’t even agree with you, and says what you’re saying is absolute complete bullshit lmfao.

They may contain analog or digital information, or a mixture of the two. T
