  • Looked at the article, and it starts off pretty stupid

    While everyone else seems to be slugging H20 from 40-ounce Stanley tumblers, I have never understood the appeal of drinking plain, tasteless water all day.

    Some people live in areas where the water tastes bad, but seeing the water as “boring” might mean that you’re drinking too much of the other stuff (soft drinks, juice, sugary etc). It’s not that those other things are not hydrating, but they’re unhealthy for other reasons.

    The question feels more pressing than ever given rising temperatures, heat waves

    I refuse to normalize a world where people lack access to clean drinking water. 😠

    The rest of the article is pretty standard advice. There’s no set amount of water that everyone needs to drink, and your diet/lifestyle/body composition/the weather will all play a role. Going based on thirst is a good indicator, but make sure you actually drink water when you’re thirsty. !hydrohomies@lemmy.ml

    The above methodological concerns, however, are amplified by a rhetorical concern, obscured by what one might call the CASE report’s “rolling disclosure” — an opaque process by which the report’s findings are slowly and partially revealed over time, rather than all at once. This complicates the ability for readers to scrutinize the report’s raw data, as well as its author’s interpretation of that data.

    When the CASE report was first released on Aug. 5, it exclusively highlighted the experience of Zionist Jewish respondents, while making zero reference to the experience of those anti-Zionist students who participated in the survey.

    In stark contrast, amongst anti-Zionist Jewish respondents, a whopping 92 per cent said their campuses were safe and inclusive for Jewish students. In the National Post column, the authors try to write off the anti-Zionist data as a “psychological or social” phenomenon rooted in “a desire for social acceptance.”

    The reality seems much simpler: Zionist Jewish students conflate hostility towards Israel with hostility towards Jews, whereas anti-Zionist Jewish students do not.

    But if you’re my colleague and we’re in a Slack discussion and you post a wall of Claude output, then I’m afraid I received a different message than you intended.

    The same is true for people’s newsletters and social content. It’s your name on it; are you proud of the prose and weird AI-isms sprinkled throughout it? If so, great. But I can ask Claude directly if I wanted to.

    TLDR: Take responsibility for what you send to people, and don’t just ask a chatbot and blindly share the output
