Lots of people that aren’t me are going to make the choice to purchase Apple hardware. Some of that hardware will eventually be sold, donated or gifted with many years of use left. Thanks to projects like Ashai, recipients of the second hand hardware can spend those years on Linux instead on Apple software.

I would much rather the original purchasers buy open hardware but until that becomes their priority there will continue to be an endless stream of proprietary hardware ending up in the hands of people who had no input on the purchase decision.

Samsung OneUI collects telemetry which they use for ad targeting and sharing with third parties along with other uses. They’ve also had multiple leaks in their software adjacent to OneUi.

There’s a lot of killing in the bible as well. Moses and Joshua committed genocides sanctioned by the Christian god. I can see how people who hold the bible in high regard could be motivated to downplay the horror of murder.
