  • Fun coincidence in terms of “three assholes”: the phonic punctuation mark ஃ in Tamil, which looks very similar to an asterism ⁂, is used to represent a voiceless glottal fricative (like the /h/ in “ham”).

    The two fun rectal-related bits:

    • This type of character in Sanskrit phonology, a visarga, means “discharge”.
    • Its cousin, representing a nasal /n/ sound, is called an anusvara.
