Unfortunately not really. I use a framework as my day to day and offload builds to a Macbook pro.

As a media client, totally. Lots of people run jellyfin on Android TV sticks and things like that.
It still is! If you try and boot a kernel with nothing in /dev, you won’t get most of the kernel boot messages since /dev/console doesn’t exist. You need a basic set of device nodes in /dev before udev is started.
If you’re going to rsync a system to new hardware and exclude /dev /proc /sys, it’s better to setup a new mount of your / to a different directory and sync off that, so you get the underlying stuff without the cruft.
/dev and /sys are the other two special ones

No, you can’t have a hard link cross filesystems and proc is its own fs type.
If you delete a file that’s still open by the app, the link in proc will still exist and you can copy the file back out of proc.

News@lemmy.world•ICE Is Asking Gate Agents To Help Arrest Passengers. Some Are Pushing Back
168·10 days agoLaurie says she was still waiting for guidance when ICE agents returned to the airport looking for another passenger. This time, she made a different choice. She called the supervisor at the gate, asked for the passenger’s phone number and called the woman herself.
“I know this is going to sound extremely radical, or crazy,” she recounted telling the woman, “but ICE is there at the gate, and they’re looking for you."
There was a pause. “Are you serious?” the woman asked.
“Yes,” Laurie said. “I know this is crazy, but I promise you. I’m being serious.”
“Should I leave?” the woman asked. “I think it might be best if you do,” Laurie said.
That’s awesome. Good for her.

Technology@lemmy.world•Spotify to introduce AI badge after fans make feelings 'clear'English
1·16 days agoI made that mistake with Spotify, got a family plan years ago and hooked my sister + nephew + niece up. Now if I want to cancel it and they lose their playlists, they’ll be all pissy.

Not really worth it unless you’re downloading attachments from spam emails or sketchy websites. It’s pretty dated tech - old school AV definitions, but there’s nothing better that’s free afaik
