Have a cigarette…

Imagine you just watched your child die because they needed a blood transfusion a week ago but it was against your religion.
This is like the story of Onan. His brother died so it was his job to marry his brother’s wife and give her a son. But he didn’t want to so he “spilled his seed.” So God killed him for failing to do his duty and provide her a son.
But later when God gave his laws for people to follow, the punishment was not death, it was to take him in front of the town elders and “remove a sandal from his foot and spit in his face.” Like c’mon. What are we even doing here, folks?
My daughter is 20 and in college now but I was a single dad and spent many days like you where parenting took every minute I had.
It absolutely gets easier. You’re In the phase where they’re mobile, can’t do anything for themselves, yet somehow, if you look away for 3 seconds they will burn the house down.
They start taking care of themselves more and rmore, requiring less constant watching until one day you wake up and they’re 20 and in college

No one said that though. What was said was that as more people use Linux we will see more malware. And they’ve been saying that forever.
Here is an article talking about it from 2003 https://www.theregister.com/2003/10/06/linux_vs_windows_viruses/
If I knew how to search Usenet these days I’m sure I could find something from the 90s
It’s not untrue, actually, is common sense that there will be more malware, but it implies Linux’s only advantage is security through obscurity.
People have been worrying Linux is going basically become Windows over the next couple of years for 2-3 decades now. Malware is a serious problem that Linux users should take precautions from, but it seems clear by now that what security advantages it has aren’t based on obscurity.

People were saying the exact same thing when I first started using Linux in 1999-ish
I couldn’t figure this one out. It’s just a drop out two, and sometimes not even that. I thought he leaned against the wet sink.
