It’s a bit hard to justify a 3d printer for a single project, but if you think you’ll use it for other projects then that’s the way I would go. Biggest callout would be to make sure the printers you’re looking at have a large enough bed size to print the model you land on. The original one I was planning on printing couldn’t fit on my printer.
