metal gear solid isn’t a game by that logic. Any open world game with linear path missions isn’t a gamy by that logic.

AntiTrumpAlliance@lemmy.world•TACO Tuesday!English
22·4 days agoMy state is larger than most European countries and it’s not even that large of a state.
When people say “then do something about it voting isn’t working” they’re asking 50 different countries to drop their jobs (most of them getting fired in the process and losing Healthcare) and personal lives to get mowed down by gung-ho losers who can’t wait to kill anyone they think is further left than they are.
Seriously, there are several websites dedicated to illustrating the true size of countries compared to others, just fiddle around with some European countries overlaying them on the US.
My friends in the UK complain about travel time and distance to get to relatives houses on holidays when the relative is only 60 miles away. I used to drive 60 miles just to get to work.
Seriously, I’d love to be able to drop everything and go demand change or else but the reality is far more complex and bloody than that.
When people tell Americans “go do something about it and don’t take no for an answer” what they are really saying is “go kill yourself via law enforcement” but are either too naive or too cowardly to say it directly.

79·5 days agoJust as managers and owners agreed to the compromise of unions in order to prevent the workers from dragging them from their homes and setting the factory on fire with them inside, governments should feel the fear of what happens when you treat people like shit and ignore their complaints.

Honestly if the rest of the game is good, I would rather have some napkin sketches, or a computer based paint software.

rubeseasy markspeople are still paying Google for the pRivIlEge to not have their eyes and brains assaulted by ads.Either use a front-end without ads or stop using it, your continued excuses for why you NEED to give daddy google money fall on deaf ears.
“but it’s such a value!” no it isn’t, you’re just gullible and naive. Or complicit. Which is worse.
Edit: forgot the word “not”

44·7 days agoIn a better world, all of these technologies that get stolen by various corpo espionage and reverse engineering teams would be freely shared with the world so everyone can benefit from them, and people not in the dev teams might have improvements they can suggest.
But instead we have a bunch of rich adult children who would rather take the ball and go home because they don’t think they’ve recieved enough praise for bringing it, and wanting to charge everyone just to look at it.
It’s not a great metaphor, but honestly dealing with companies and governments feels a lot like dealing with children you aren’t allowed to discipline or even talk sternly to because their parents have forbidden you from interfering.

18·10 days agoI mean, personally I say if you’re allowing people to sell under your name, you are ultimately responsible for what’s being sold and should take care of the customer, then go after the people who sold under your name.
So get out of here with your “defending large companies even a tiny bit”

1·12 days agoI can confirm you do not NEED the levitate ability
I enjoy trying to get to places that game designers don’t want me to go, even if I’m supposed to come back to something later. I WILL try to climb on everything. It’s how I became the first person in my friend group to find all the collectible items in Destiny, and the first one to get to the top of that one mountain in the social space.
I legit thought it was just part of the challenge to get to the anchor fight with just jumping and boosting. I had to stack some things with telekinesis but I made it!
I get levitate first now. It was MUCH harder without it…

Lpt: a circular saw is quicker than a sawzall on 2in aluminum pipes. If you aren’t sure what kind of metal you’re working with, use a magnet. If it sticks, use a sawzall. If it doesn’t, use a circular saw. With a little practice, you can get through a 2in pipe in under 45 seconds (12s is my record for 2in aluminum pipe)
How you use that little tidbit of info is up to you I guess, I just like sharing information about metalworking, since I’m a hobby level blacksmith.
And just in case you want to go camping with your metalworking tools, as one does, there are some decent brands that fit nicely in a backpack, and you can get around your campground quickly with bicycles. Just don’t bring your phone, they ruin bike trips.
