I agree that isn’t the best way to phrase it and that how a person feels about how they look matters way more then someone else’s opinion but we are basically saying that what women tell each other what men like and what most men actually like can be very different things.

It isn’t as permanent but it can still send someone into the uncanny valley, especially the current drawn on eyebrows thing.

They may or may not be doing permanent damage but women do a lot of horrific things to their faces with makeup, eyebrows, makeup tattoos, and surgery.

There is a pretty big echo chamber with fashion and it can send things off the rails fast. Same thing happens with body builders, plastic surgery aficionados, and looksmaxers and basically any group you can think of.
