i assume they wouldn’t be able to pay for the actors and motion capture setups, or all the detailed game assets, the super realistic graphics, the music and sound effects, and just the sheer amount of time they have to spend coding up the whole thing. I’d love to be proven wrong though.

No, you’d have a point if I had mentioned Detroit: Become Human (which I gave up on halfway because it was so boring). But these games have solid gameplay too.

Unfortunately indie devs just don’t have the resources to make the kinds of immersive story games I really like (think Uncharted, TLoU, Horizon Zero Dawn, etc.)

They have a public instance you can use but if you’re going to have things like location tracking and device wipe enabled then it’s probably better to self host.

Lots. Immich, Jellyfin, Ollama, Homeassistant, Frigate, Nextcloud, Navidrome, *arr stack, Find my Device Server, various monitoring/logging tools (mainly Grafana stack), etc.

Recently migrated my homelab from a one node docker compose stack to a dual node k3s cluster, so this looks pretty interesting.
