I still like technology. It’s still possible to find technology that doesn’t spy on you and that you can control yourself. I use Mint, by the way.

I’d also suggest Mint for getting started. I’ve been using it for several years with minimal hassle.


This would work in winter and there are already heat pumps that use river water. Those are utility scale installations, though, so they don’t just pop up overnight. And they’ll be pretty useless in summer, when the air is hotter than the water.
