  • For the most part, there’s nothing to boycott yet. Showing up to council meetings by the dozens, imploring them to say No to the data centers they’ve already been bribed to accept, is the same action, done preemptively. Boycotts come later, when the data centers are actually open.

I’m aware that some are already operational, but they are a fraction of what these predators want to build.

Right now, the move is to let them know that we don’t want this, and there will be consequences for supporting data centers. Then vote them out in the next election, and make it very vocal why.

And in small towns and counties, where the council members also operate businesses, those businesses need to be boycotted. You don’t get to inflict existential damage on this town and it’s citizens, without feeling retribution for it. I hope your bribe was fat enough to sustain you after your business crashes, because that’s the choice you made.

  • When my son was a toddler, I had an older aunt who had no children, but plenty of opinions on how they should be raised. We were visiting one time, and planned a visit to the zoo, and she just insisted that we had to get a leash for him, or he was so going to get away from us, and end up in an animal pen, and get eaten, presumably.

I refused her many orders to get a leash (I didn’t even know where to find one, this was before Amazon), and finally just flat out told her that there would be no leash, we would just have to do our jobs as parents and adults, and actually pay attention to him.

And he only got into animal pens a few times. He hardly got gnawed on at all. He was fine.

  • MAGA thinks they smell blood in the water on the trans issue, so that’s their chosen wedge issue for the foreseeable future. I’m the past it was abortion, flag burning, kneeling, gay adoption, gay marriage, gay gayness, etc.

The proper answer to any trans nonsense is: “I am not a doctor, and I won’t presume to interfere with the medical decisions between any patient and their doctor, on any subject. I have absolutely no opinions on this subject, and do not consider it an appropriate subject for a political discussion. It is an appalling and indefensible political strategy to use any medical issue as a political talking point, so I’m not interested in your opinion either.”

That works for ANY medical issue, including abortion.
