TikTok has reached a $400 million settlement with the U.S. Department of Justice, ending a 2024 lawsuit alleging the company violated federal children’s privacy laws.
And they are changing their practices!? I don’t see any details about them no longer collecting information illegally or how this money is going to be used to stop them from collecting information on children under 13. Also the age should be 18, wtf is up with 13 and then with a caveat of “parents permission”.
It should be no gathering any information under the age of 18 period non-negotiable and you lose your business license of you get caught.
