I’ve had the same one for ~30 years and the only thing it’s needed is some electrical tape.
Yeah, I’d imagine that any cartridge console would be way more durable than any optical media console.

I’d be happy to be wrong, but it seems unlikely that anything with an optical drive would be the most durable.
I thought dvds can get scratched?
