minus-squareBowtiesAreCool@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up11·15 days agoMelee focused souls-like, set around a secret government organisation that catalogues and controls paranatural objects, people, and events.
minus-squareOhShitSon@lemmy.ziplinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up8·15 days ago souls-like And like so, all my interest in this sequel is gone. Really liked the first game, bit cannot stand any of the souls games combat.
minus-squareKjell@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up4·15 days agoOther people says it is not souls-like but it is sad that they changed the style at all. I was also enjoying the first game.
minus-squareprole@lemmy.blahaj.zonelinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up2·14 days agoIt’s not a soul like. Like at all. And it’s not all that different from the combat in the first game besides being melee instead of gun
minus-squareprole@lemmy.blahaj.zonelinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up6·edit-215 days ago souls like Eh I’m not sure about that, though I’ve only played a couple of hours so far. Shares more DNA with something from Platinum imo. This is not meant to be a judgement on the quality of the game as I generally love Platinum’s games. Edit: maybe a better comparison would be the modern Ninja Gaiden games (though not as difficult. Not yet at least)
minus-squaredvlsg@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up9·15 days agoIt’s definitely not a soulslike. There’s no stamina, you don’t have to commit to attacks (can interrupt them mid swing by dodging). There’s double jumps, dashes, no estus, no bonfires.
minus-squareprole@lemmy.blahaj.zonelinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up3·15 days agoYeah exactly. More like the modern Ninja Gaiden games maybe?
minus-squaredvlsg@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up2·15 days agoYeah I think that’s right. I’m about 6hrs in now. I’d say it’s easier, but similar.

minus-squareallidoislietomyself@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up6·15 days agoI’d say it is more akin to Devil May Cry than any Souls game.
minus-squaredjsoren19@lemmy.blahaj.zonelinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up2·14 days agowait hold on did Remedy accidentally stumble onto a good combat loop for this one?
minus-squareallidoislietomyself@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up1·14 days agoI’d say so. It’s been pretty awesome so far. I have a few tiny complaints about the camera and enemy targeting but other than that it’s fun as hell.
