No Man’s Sky is not as focused on realism as Elite : Dangerous, the planets are at fixed points within the system. The resources used to fuel your ship in NMS are found on asteroids and planets.
Ahhh, I didn’t know they were fixed. I knew E:D took a more realistic approach and that every game makes compromises with rendering and instancing, but I never thought to question orbits. Cool, thank you for the info.
I might be the only confused person in the thread, but I found this thread that explained more of what I wanted to know
Interesting, thank you. Do the planets follow orbits at all? Did they just disregard the sun? Does not compute
E:D lets you refuel by scooping the corona, so visiting stars seems critical in exploration
