Chromium has a Setting => System => “Continue running background apps when Chromium is closed”
which I always uncheck.Does Chrome have this setting too? Could unchecking it disable its ability to hijack global shortcuts?
Yes, Chrome has that too.
Sympathy for people whining about using chrome is a dry well.
Still a good thing to keep documenting the many reasons why people shouldn’t use it in my book.
The only exception to that is people who are forced to use it for work (or worse, forced to use ChromeOS for work 🫠), but otherwise fully agree.
Yep, Firefox was not consistent with their updates for a while and had an issue not being easily managed. So a lot of IT teams blocked FF. Anyone in a zero trust environment needs apps with consistency. I think Mozilla fixed this but it’s too late for many companies.
I’m not an expert but it was explained to me. Edge and chrome are the defaults.
