Yeah, that´s a dead ringer use case, and for the price of a 3 monitor display, the frame might actually be competitive and also less of a tecnical headache.

I loved it for flightsims, but there need to be more affordable controls you can use blindly. I even built a little button box with different kinds of switches to make my life easier.

That was the problem I had using vr for Elite: Dangerous and Star Wars: Squadrons. Awesome looking in vr, but impossible if you needed to use any keyboard controls.

ED was almost entirely workable with an X-Box controller. You could probably have a good time with two joysticks with a ton of buttons and a rudder pedal.

But the damn problem is memorizing all the controls.

Edit: Also you could use voice activated commands, but setting everything up was a like a hobby in itself.

Yeah, E:D was workable with a controller, but cumbersome.

I’ve toyed with the idea of getting a HOTAS set-up, but now I’ve hard-mounted my wheel that’s a bit less feasible.

Hm. There are ways, I’m sure.

I sat on a board and velcroed my joystick to it before I made a bracket under the seat to slide the board into…

You can also recruit your pedals as inputs, if you’ve got 'em.
