States are required to pay a share of SNAP benefit costs after the One Big Beautiful Bill Act was signed into law in July 2025. The law requires states with SNAP payment error rates greater than 6% to pay a share of benefit costs, with the amount depending on how far a state’s error rate exceeds that threshold.
Alabama had a payment error rate of 9.52% in the fiscal year 2025 and would be responsible for 10% of its SNAP costs, or approximately $174 million.
Well, well, well, if it isn’t the consequences of your own stupid actions.
Arizona was just the very tip of the Republican stupidity iceberg when earlier this year 400K people were kicked off benefits because of this error rate bullshit and it’s going to get so much worse, especially in the Republican, red taker states.
“But we couldn’t possibly vote for the Democrat (sic) Party, because they want trans for everybody!”
– cons punching themselves in their own dick
People kicked off or denied for errors by the state should count in the calculation too, so they aren’t so eager to deny people

It won’t be Tuberville going without, so I doubt he’ll learn much here.
It’s a good thing he’s in “talks”. I’m not sure he knows how to read.
