  • Okay, but this isn’t all that surprising, to me at least, considering there are really only a couple other actually viable¹ options ( linux things like ubuntu touch not included since only a single phone brand uses it as an option ).

¹ viable as in has major corporate support and isn’t something you usually are the one installing by hand

    Edit:

Nothing against projects like ubuntu touch, but I kinda meant viable as in easy enough that if you replaced an older person android for it, they wouldn’t struggle any more than they currently do. Also, that other companies see as viable and worthy enough for them to spend the resources on trying to support, hardware wise.

  • I have yet to have many issues with it, so far. So many people say you don’t need an antivirus on linux, but I am of the belief that you should have it regardless. Better safe to have a scanner just in case, especially if you download anything off the internet. Doesn’t matter if it’s from a supposedly safe source, it’s better IMO to just scan it just in case.

  • Compilers ain’t a problem for me. Compilers aren’t enabling people to claim writing they never wrote as their own so they can sell “books”. Compliers aren’t generating false information on purpose in order to trick me because it was built to be a gaslighting yes man¹. Compilers aren’t deleting anything from certain files to whole directories¹ off my system unless I tell them to.

I don’t have to worry about a compiler trying to steal all my data¹ in order to please braindead C-suites trying to replace all humans with clankers. So I have zero issues with a good genAI free compiler.

¹ unless they have been compromised/my system has been infected
